Like the French author Victor Hugo (1802-1885) said: “Life is the flower for which love is the honey”.

Although a manual for ‘life’ wasn’t handed by our birth, one thing we do understand: we can recall each moment with our loved ones through all of our senses. When things get hard we can rely on our most beautiful and warm memories to help us through, and often these memories come with our sense of smell.

Minstrel of Scents translates precious and memorable moments and memories in fragrances, poetic and visual stories.

As a little girl I was spoiled by many  IFF-‘perfumedupes avant la lettre’. My late grandfather worked for fifty years as a sales manager at Polak & Schwarz and IFF, Polak & Schwarz’ successor. IFF was and still is one of the greatest suppliers in the fragrance industry, and has a legacy of many famous perfumers. Fascinated I would sniff at the simple equiped but irresistible bottles on my grandmother’s boudoir. A few years before I was born, my father headed to Paris to establish a new perfume brand, in collaboration with grandfather. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, he had to let go of his plans.

Many years later I decided to build further on this legacy. Developing my own accords further in a professional way together with the best perfumers to create high quality perfumes combined with my passion for writing and storytelling.

Minstrels were known as travelling poets, musicians and storytellers, during the late Medieval period. They recited their own poems about love, life, humor and grief.

At Minstrel of Scents we create perfumed stories that reinforce emotions, build memories and comfort you in your journey of life and love. In collaboration with passionate perfumers, Minstrel of Scents strives to create fragrances and scents that provide an olfactory experience, imprinting that very special moment and bring inspiration to live and love.

We create and produce our perfumes on a sustainable base in The Netherlands to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible.

• All carton packaging is exclusively made of FSC(Forest Stewardship Council)-approved material.
• The bottle ornaments are FSC certified as well and produced in The Netherlands under excellent circumstances.
• Sleeves and boxes are designed with love, to keep and treasure it.
• All ingredients meet the highest standards regarding IFRA(International Fragrance Association) and European cosmetic law and regulations.
• Partners in the supply- and demand production chain are ISO-, RSPO- and IFRA certified, which means these companies value environment and sustainability in ultimate ways.
• Bottles are supplied from European countries.
• Distances between suppliers are as small as possible.
